Career reorientation is an intensive process enabling your clients to rethink and reassert the value of employability in order to eventually reintegrate the job market. Career reorientation is carried out through individual sessions with a career counsellor and focuses on the following aspects:
- Evaluate their motivation and assess their work and academic experience, as well as their transferable skills
- Explore and identify key attitudes, behaviors and/or beliefs that can hinder work reintegration
- Administer and interpret standardized career tests
- Complete a psychosocial assessment (physical and mental health, family, social, and general wellbeing)
- Identify careers or occupations that correspond to a client’s career profile
- Validate career options that respect functional limitations, have good job prospects and satisfy a client’s expectations for a new career or job
- Create a realistic action plan
